Junior Market Swine Show

Show Day: Sunday / August 28
Entries Accepted: 7:00-9:00 a.m.
Entry Fee: $ 10 per head – CASH only
Show time: 10:00 a.m.
Showmanship: Following Judging - $1.00 to enter. Winner in each category takes all.
Junior: Ages 9-11 as of show date
Intermediate: Ages 12-14 as of show date
Seniors: Ages 15-18 as of show date

Placings: First – fourth place in each class, rosette to breed/reserve breed champion

Grand Champion: Rosette + added money
Reserve Grand: Rosette + added money

Show order: Alphabetically by breed with crossbreeds showing last.

1. Negative pseudo rabies papers and premise ID required on all swine.
2. Minimum of three (3) head to make a breed. If less than three, will show as AOB (all other breeds)
3. All swine will be shown as market swine
4. 150 pound minimum and 280 pound maximum for all swine
5. Fans will be allowed in barn
6. No paints or oils allowed on swine.

Junior Market Sheep Show

Show time: 10:00 a.m.
Showmanship: Following Judging - $1.00 to enter. Winner in each category takes all.
Junior: Ages 9-11 as of show date
Intermediate: Ages 12-14 as of show date
Seniors: Ages 15-18 as of show date

2. Animals may be dismissed for visible fungus, contagious diseases or other sickness. (at discretion of show superintendent).
3. Fans will be allowed in barn
4. All animals must be slick sheared to show
5. Minimum of three (3) head to make a breed. If less than three, will show as AOB (all other breeds)
6. All sheep will be shown as market sheep
7. Must have all lamb teeth, no sign of permanent teeth
8. No paints or oils allowed on sheep

Showmanship: Following Judging - $1.00 to enter. Winner in each category takes all.
Junior: Ages 9-11 as of show date
Intermediate: Ages 12-14 as of show date
Seniors: Ages 15-18 as of show date

Placings: First – fourth place in each class, rosette to breed/reserve breed champion

Show order: Prospect steers, Progress steers, Heifers

Steers:
1. Will be shown by English breeds (Angus, Hereford, Shorthorn) by weight, then exotic breeds by weight.
2. Prospect steers weight 900 pounds and below. Progress steers weight 901 pounds and over.
3. Chutes and fans allowed but number and placement will be at discretion of beef superintendent.
4. Read General Livestock Rules and Regulations.

Heifers:
1. Minimum of three (3) head to make a breed. If less than three, will show as AOB (all other breeds)
2. All heifers must have been born on or after August 26, 2009
3. Heifers must be accompanied by an official registration certificate or will show as commercial heifer.
4. Commercial heifers will be shown by weight.
5. Heifers will be shown in alphabetical order by breed and classed by age with commercial
heifers showing last (by weight).
6. Herefords polled or horned will show together.
7. Breeds and breed influences will show together.
8. Read General Livestock Rules and Regulations.

4-H/FFA Rabbit Show

Entries Accepted: 7:30 – 8 a.m.
Entry Fee: $2 per rabbit – CASH only
Show time: 8:30 a.m.
Location: Southwest Side of Fair Barn
Awards: 1st-4th place ribbons
Best of Show – trophy & rosette + added money

Exhibitor Requirements:
Must be a 4-H/FFA member
Rabbits must be in cages (bring your own).
All rabbits must be identified by a legible tattoo in left ear. Legibility to be
determined by the judge.
Exhibitors must take care of their own rabbits while at show.
Show order will be determined by Rabbit Show Superintendent.

Children’s Dog Show

Children ages 5-18 may show their dog or a relative/friend's dog. All dogs must be current on their shots, proof of vaccinations is required.

GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS
Any dog showing aggression to another dog and/or person will be disqualified and asked to leave the show immediately.
1. Exhibitor must submit written proof (signed by a veterinarian) of vaccinations within the last 12 months.
2. If exhibitor is a 4-H or FFA member they should wear a
t-shirt, armband, or jacket of the organization they represent.
3. Pets must be collared, leashed or caged at all times. Must bring own cage or crate to hold animal.
4. Dogs must be over 4 months of age and have had their first rabies vaccination.
5. In Dog Show grooming classes, dogs must be groomed by the exhibitor.
6. The Tri-County Fair Board reserves the right to interpret these rules and regulations and arbitrarily settle questions arising in connection with this contest as held under the management of those responsible.
7. Judge's decisions are final.

 
 
 
 
General Livestock Rules and Regulations –
2011 Collinsville Tri-County Fair

Livestock Superintendent: Don Colpitt # 918-855-3815

Only registered 4-H and FFA members may show livestock.
In all cases, exhibitor must furnish, when required, registration papers in that individual’s name for all animals they are exhibiting.
3. Exhibitor must show their own animal.
4. Exhibitor must furnish own feed, bedding (shavings only, no straw) and water containers.
5. Exhibitors must clean their area of all trash and debris before leaving.
6. Exhibitor must prepare their own animal for the show ring. No professional fitting on the day of show.
7. All youth will be required to wear the logo/decor of 4-H or FFA when entering the ring for competition.
8. No gambling or betting permitted.
9. All property of every character entered for competition or any other purpose, or being anywhere on the fairgrounds, shall be under the control of the Fair Board. In no case shall the Fair Board be held responsible for any loss , damage or injury of any character to any such property while under their control, or at any time or place.
10. The Tri County Fair Board reserves the right to interpret these rules and regulations and to arbitrarily settle all questions or disputes arising in connection with the Tri- County Fair to be held under the management of this Board.
11. Under no circumstances will any drug or drugs be administered to animals while at the Tri-County Fair.
12. Superintendents shall have the discretion to divide market animals into weight classes and number of animals per class as deemed necessary to make the show fair and equitable for the majority of the participants.
13. All protests must be made in writing and accompanied by a $50 cash deposit. Deposit will be forfeited if protest is not sustained. The said protest must state plainly the cause of the complaint and must be filed with the Department Superintendent within 30 minutes after the award is made and ribbon is placed.

Exhibition in this department is limited to REGISTERED 4-H members only.

The 4-H member should enter the class that matches his/her age as of January 1 of current year.

Each 4-H member is limited to twenty (20) items. Cloverbuds are limited to five (5) items.

All exhibits will be entered on Thursday August 25, 3:30 -5:30 p.m.

Exhibits will be released Saturday August 27, 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Ribbons will be awarded first through third places. Premium will be paid to first only.
