It
has rained in Collinsville for so many days, I can't remember when it started.
I know it was after the sunny Aug. 26 park photo below and was rainy for about
5 days before finally clearing Sept. 2nd. Before the rains started, temperatures
had been 100+ degrees and trees were starting to show signs of heat stress.
Today
there was water standing in some yards; ponds and creeks were full; and temperatures
were in the 60s. What a difference a few days can make! -- Ted Wright 9/2/2003
