Back
on October 24, with the OBA championship still much in doubt, Mayor Michael
Sirmon met with band as the sun came up (during their normal 7am practice).
He challenged them to give that extra effort to win again and extend their record
of consecutive OBA wins. If they met that challenge, the Mayor and a few other
brave band boosters offered to march down Main Street in drag carrying a banner
proclaiming the accomplishment.
...
and these "lovely" Band Boosters met their end of the deal Sunday,
November 9th at about 3:15pm. They marched from 7th & Main back to the band
room on 14th Street with the band cheering them on.
Band
members volunteered to help the Boosters with their makeup before they donned
their dresses.
The
boosters also honored the championship band with a special cake following a
burger and hotdog luncheon at the bandroom Sunday afternoon (Nov. 9th)

Band Booster President Doug Wakefield (left) and current President Tim Nelson,
