Presentation By KKT Architects and Brewer Construction
-- Plans (updated from previous
presentation May 8th and still being revised) were shown to the
school board. The likely time table for putting the next construction
phase before voters would be a Nov. 2017 call for election for a February
2018 vote. The main proposed features are new bandroom, vo-ag building,
and STEM classrooms at the high school; plus a new classroom wing
at C.U.E.

Building Site Reports --
-- ECC (Boomer) -- Walk-A-Thon
raised $12K for classroom and technology (will try Chromebooks); "Stop
& Be A Thinker"; progress on monitoring and testing;
thankful for ECC budget.
-- Herald (Hunt) -- Fall Book Fair raised ~$3500, grandparents day
is always exciting; Fire Dept. coming; field trip to Woolaroc; Bedlem
fun combined with Red Ribbon and Halloween last week in October.
-- CUE (Stacy) -- Busy Sept/Oct; Robert
Lewis Cherokee storyteller; Cherokee Culture Enrichment for 5th
graders - marbles & stickball; Sept. 25 electrical safety presentation;
BMX stunt team at indoor
character assembly; McTeacher Night raised $2K; 4th grade to performance
center for pirate show; $5K raised for new swings on playground (Dr.
Hillary Nicholson); thankful for job done by Julie Crutchfield and
all of the special ed staff.
-- 6th/Alt (Keim) -- 6th Book Fair raised $1250; more Chromebooks
- science mostly paperless (Myers/McNeal); STEM building gliders with
online simulation; STUCO dance Oct. 26; Title I meet; Alternative
up to 32 students now - using Odessy - lifeskills
-- CMS (Harp) -- Girls Softball & 7th Volleyball were conference
champs; book fair; Meet the Choir
last week; PSATS, Dodgeball Nov. 2; STEM Victory Energy tour; Choir
17 MS All-Dist; few more weeks of football;
-- CHS (Kiker) -- 4th
Year Cheer Academic State Champs; Choir 8 All-Dist; Band &
Color Guard 2nd in Class at BA; PSAT this week feeds TCC concurrent;
Pep Assembly was best with classes split for competition; student
leadership helped plan homecoming and downtown activities; Nov. 3rd
next assembly - blacklight; Nov. 3rd college fair at Owasso HS; 71
kids to Skiatook ACT prep; coffee with counselors - 26 parents came;
FAFSA night; Friday random note caused issue - sent school messenger.

Discussion and Vote to Approve Changes in the District Board of Education
Policy Book. -- Approved changes to allow recruitment
by certain groups during school time. Like boy Scouts, FFA, ... 93
groups listed.

-- Janah (CNP) -- National School Lunch Week; CUE sample jucies/veggies;
new brownies at Wilson; meat ball sauses - won contest this summer;
menu co-op saved $15K first month; serving more kids now and getting
great feedback; reimbersable (to school) meals at snack bar

* Bought 2 trucks + Love Transportation donated 2 box trucks (for
band and other use)
* $220K carryover likely if no big changes
* State standards perceptions - tough times to be a public school
teacher
* Hard to find specific secondary teachers (science/math)
* MS - additional parking for gym/wrestling room -- also partial air
conditioning
* Several roofs leak ... some 30 years old
* Homecoming -- Well Done
* OSSBA meet Tuesday this week
* OBA (band) at Yukon Sat.
* Fall Break end of next week
