Building Site Reports
-- CUE/Stacy: Fast semester; Santa Shop opened
today - kids shop for parents; food collected to Ministerial Alliance;
4th grade to Claremore Veterans facility; Dec. 20th 9:30am Christmas
assembly; test scores received; teachers working hard to address any
issues.
-- Alt/Keim: 35 students now, 1 earlier grad and 1 at Christmas break.
-- 6th/Keim: 1st ever talent show planned; huge food drive; dance;
OSU Extension on nutrition; mouse trap cars.
-- MS/Harp: STEM to leadership conference; STEM
DAY ~50 little kids while parents shopped; 8th grade PSATs in Nov.;
Character Assembly magic show; Boars Head Feast; vocal workshop in
Norman; band concert Dec. 14th; dance; ORU field trip - minerals;
mineral/gem collection; JrHi won Sand Springs wrestling tournament;
Gifted and talented to Air and Space Museum; academic team to regionals
Wed.; JrHi Jazz band added and will compete Friday.

HS/Kiker: Choir Boars Heade Feast; vocal workshop at OU; band concert
Dec. 14; four All-State band members; about half students (~400)
got rewarded with 1st semester exemption - extra
day off at Thanksgiving; PSAT scores arrived today; FFA/Leadership
canned food drive to Dividing Bread; consolidating signings to just
4 NCAA signing days (had 5 sign in Nov., next Dec. 20).
-- Herald/Hunt: Cherokee Language Bowl 1st place; Bedlam fund raiser
over $2K raised;
Veterans Day program; again thanks for "giving" community;
Kent's Custom Auto coat drive; Nov. 22 Herald Hustle (1st ever) raised
$15K; Santa photos; Santa shop with PTO scholarships for those in
need; phonics program helped reading scores (of 224 kids only 20 need
intervention), Dec. 19 Christmas party.
-- ECC/Boomer: Canned food drive ~800 items; kindergarten programs
last week; angel tree fully adopted; proud of teachers, Sarah Casillas
is ECC teacher of year.

Discussion and possible Action on Roadway and Utility Easement Agreement
on High School Property. -- Approved, an agreement
with the city and another with the Sallee family (George & Dee)
for easements at the high school for roadway near the school's planned
new band room and ag facility (between the current high school and
nursing home).

Discussion and Possible Action on the District-Wide LED Project
-- Approved, Lease purchase for converting most school lighting to
LED for big utility and maintenance cost savings. 7 year coverage
of all bulbs. The ~$195K price does not include the outdoor field
lights, the new CUE or practice gym or recently retrofitted MS gym/wrestling
room. Will be financed at 2.84% for 4 years by American Bank of Oklahoma.
Likely installation in January 2018.

Directors Report
-- Julie Cutchfield explained the school revenue
situation. Overall we are in good shape and do not anticipate a state
"revenue failure" anytime soon. Local growth continues to
help our school district.
-- Kelly Hamlin discussed recent state test results which have now
reached parents; April ACT testing (for Juniors) will be paper &
pencil again after other schools attempts to use Chromebooks failed.
Teachers of year for 2018-19 announced: HS- Tracy Pabitzky, MS- Rod
Mackey, 6th- Julie Beeson, CUE- Emilee Bristol, Herald- Brooke Davison,
ECC- Sarah Casillas.
-- Michell Janah (CNP) stated low income applications were down ...
need to continue educating parents why it is important to the school
district to apply; $11K saved in November food purchases; "Angel"
program fed 18 kids ($500).

Superintendent's Report -- Lance West reported
on these topics:
* payroll expenses are up (compared to last year) as expected
* spent $8800 for subs this month
* Bond News - spoke to Chamber of Commerce, working on video presentation.
* Middle school gym air conditioning done
* Considering changes at football field: addition 300 seats for student
section, move fence for "outside" parking; and maybe even
more parking north of ESC
* Jennifer McElroy and Brady Stephens filed for school board post
