We are an active part of the communities we serve because they are the places we call home. The members we serve live, work and play in the lush rolling hills of northeastern Oklahoma.

Headquartered in Collinsville, Oklahoma, VVEC is a distribution electric cooperative. We provide electric service to residential, commercial and industrial consumers through more than 32,000 meters and more than 4,500 miles of electric line in portions of Nowata, Osage, Rogers, Tulsa and Washington counties.

Among the 26 electric cooperatives operating in Oklahoma, VVEC is the third largest based on the number of meters served by the co-op. Ninety-two employees cover the Cooperative’s more than 3,200-square mile service territory daily maintaining the electric system and providing consumer-oriented service.

COLLINSVILLE PARK BOARD

TYPE OF MEETING: Regular

TIME: 4:30p.m.

AGENDA

1) Call to Order.

2) Roll Call: Pam Webb, Ted Wright, Cheryl Hunt, Trent Rogers. -- Present: Webb, Rogers & Wright. Absent: Hunt
(Note: the board is one member short following Ozug resignation)

3) Approval of minutes from March 15, 2012 Special Meeting and April 17, 2012 Regular Meeting. -- Approved (with correction for location of proposed sand volleyball court in March 15th minutes).

4) Discussion and possible action regarding play equipment at Charlie’s Park. -- Tabled (after discussion) with request to finish status/viability determination of equipment removed from city park that had previously been designated for Charlie's Park.

5) Discussion and possible action regarding removal of shredded tire fall protection and seek replacement with pour in fall protection. -- Approved. The park board recommends to the city commission that the shredded material be removed from under the swings (near the splash pad) and a new spongy/foam surface (similar to the adjacent play areas) be installed. Initial estimate in range of $20 to $24K.

6) Discussion and possible action on security cameras at Park. -- Tabled (after discussion), A preliminary estimate for 3 specific cameras was provided with $11.5K cost estimate. These would record on-site and require some climate control. Will explore options for transmitting cameras (with anticipated higher cost) and existing school security camera system for comparison.

7) Discussion and possible action to update current Park Ordinances. -- The park board requests a joint work session with the city commission on this topic. The out-dated city ordinances relating to the operation of city parks (& zoos & airports) as well as the park board mode of operation needs review and potential updates. A simpler Sand Springs example was offered for consideration but some valid park operation sections might be lost if replaced in total. The park board as an advisory board only is a likely outcome.

8) Park status report. -- Phil Stowell reported on these topics:
* the damaged foot bridge (over the creek) has been removed. Staff exploring cost/options for eventual replacement
* exploring options to repair holes in softball field fence
* several plants and trees need replacement
* exploring ability to move yearly splash pad opening date a bit earlier (weather dependent, as well as staffing/tasks at cemetery dependent)
* mowing continues to be huge summer task, but inmate labor program (renewed recently) has helped greatly. Also hope to task that labor force with creek clearing as time permits ... with thousands of self sprouting trees before they get much larger.

9) New Business. -- none

10) Adjournment.
