The 2010 soccer seniors played their final regular varsity game on Sallee Field Friday April 23rd. Individual photos from the above setting will appear (eventually) on their graduate pages that will go online (unfinished) May 1st only on cvilleok.
Ricci Smith's 3rd goal against East Central is midway to the goalie on this successful penalty kick with 10:52 left in the first half of the girl's game Friday.
Blake Hanewinkle (#5) with a header early in the boy's game -vs- East Central here Friday.
Courtney Risley (blue shirt) was in goal for the Lady Cards and stopped all East Central shots for the shutout.

The Collinsville boys kept the East Central goalie busy but didn't get on the board in the first half despite an apparent goal waved off (right photo) by the official (probably an offsides call?). I left at half time with East Central up by a single goal.
Ricci Smith (#5) had an open net after she got past the EC goalie and scored her 4th goal of the game at 35:42 in the 2nd half. The final score was 4-0 for the Lady Cards.
Coach Schubert got an explanation from the official for a call in the first half of the boys game.

9:30pm update: I let the dog out for a few minutes downtown and heard the soccer crowd roar and the announcer credit a goal to Oscar Perez. Hopefully someone will let me know the boys final score? -- Ted Fri 4/23/2010
Friday Night Soccer Followup: The CHS boys Soccer team lost to East Central 3-2 in a penalty kick shoot out. Oscar Perez scored 2 goals in the last 6 minutes of the game to send it into overtime. Still tied 2 - 2 after two 10 minute overtime periods East Central hit on 4 of their 4 shots while Collinsville could only covert on 2 shots in the tie-breaker. -- Jim Riley (& Ethan Carothers) 4/26/2010 -- Ethan says the Cards play at Booker T. Washington May 4th at 8pm in a first round playoff game.
