The Lady Cards tossed their headbands in a pre-game celebration.
Kylee Cole sends a pitch toward catcher Rachel Pitts and past a Skiatook batter in the first inning here Monday.
Kylee Cole
This Skiatook baserunner scored their only run on an error in the first inning. Collinsville started their half of the 1st inning with 3 consecutive singles loading the bases. Randi Gilmartin then drove in a Cardinal run with the 4th hit. That tied the score at 1-1 which stood into at least the 5th inning when I left to cover the football games. The final 2-1 Collinsville win was annouced there later.
The outfielders (Samantha Smith, Marysa Trost & Shannon Driggers) watch as the infielders complete the final warmup tosses between innings.
Shortstop Lacie Cook prepares to scoop a grounder and throw out a Skiatook runner at 1st base.
Catcher Rachel Pitts made the catch on this pop foul and avoided a collision with third baseman Emily Varner in the 4th inning.
Good evening Ted, I know you are extremely busy but we have the # 3 ranked softball team in 5A and haven't seen any coverage at all in 3 weeks. We need to get the word out on these girls a little more so they can get as much support as possible. They deserve it!!!

Kenny, You are correct, the CHS softball coverage has been a bit light so far this season and they deserve more coverage (since photos ~2 weeks ago & submitted scores ~1 week ago). I have photos in progress from the 1st 4 innings this afternoon against #7 ranked Skiatook ... but as "there is no more important game than the one your kid is in" ... I left to cover the concurrent 7th grade football game where parents have had no photos online yet ... and I hope to get my first cross country photos Thursday and then 3rd-9th grade football ... etc. (see the index). And I have other emails with submitted news I haven't even opened yet (Wilson Character kids). -- Ted 11:25pm Tuesday 9/1/2009
