Ricky Rimpley's (CHS 2004) two long TD pass catches and a late interception helped the Lawdawgz to a 12-9 win over the Fire/EMS team which also had a few former Cardinal football players.
What I assume was a Highway Patrol helicopter appeared from the gravel pit at the north end of Sallee Field during the football game Saturday. Collinsville was likely the most secure community around with the large gathering of law enforcement, fire, rescue and EMS personnel from several local communities. The event raised funds for Cancer Sucks' fight against cancer.
The Fire/EMS offense (in red) had the ball on the ground but recovered on this 2nd half play before a nice sized crowd in the stands on both sides.
#21 (Copeland) just missed this pass late in the first half when the Fire/EMS team had a 9-0 lead. I missed most the first half so don't have photos or details. -- Ted Wright -- www/cvilleok.com
Ricky Rimpley (#31) scored the first points for the Cops on this pass with only 4 seconds left in the first half to bring the score to 6-9 (with the extra point attempt blocked).
Isaac Holly (#76) and Dusty Danderson (#50) are two of the Collinsville Fire/EMS personnel I recognize in this early 2nd half photo.
#5 (Johnny Smith) with a Fire/EMS pass attempt.
Coach Ron Koscheski sends in a play (to Preston Lay #11) with the Lawdawgz still trailing in the 3rd quarter.
Sorry I don't have a more complete roster (including the communities represented) but this is all the announcer had also. -- Ted (and Brandon Rake was actually #33 for the Fire-EMS team)
On-Duty -- Not everyone was playing football as City engine 3 left for a call during the game.
Ricky Rimpley (#31) is halfway to the endzone with the go-ahead touchdown pass for the Lawdawgs at 10:39 in the 4th quarter. The extra point attempt failed.
Ricky Rimpley (#31) intercepted this Fire-EMS pass at about the 12 yard line and about 29 seconds left in the game to preserve the Lawdawgz win.
Brandon Rake (#33 CHS 2004) took this handoff for a short run up the middle for Fire-EMS. I don't have a photo but Ryan Garrett had a fumble recovery for Fire-EMS in the 2nd half.
