The Collinsville Patchworkers met at the Library June 9 and elected officers for the coming year: Co-Presidents Sherry Neph and Patty Schneider; Roster - Audrey Engles; Newsletter - Hazel Gast; and Journalist - Linda Pfeffer.
The group also voted to adopt the Cherokee Indian Nation Orphanage, and will donate quilts of all sizes throughout the year.

Several members also attended the Sew-In, Saturday, June 13 - working on various items for either the Shriners Hospital, Newborns In Need, or personal projects. The next regular Patchworkers meeting will be July 14, and the color for the fat-quarter drawing will be red.

30-Day Warning Period: No Turn To Park
Collinsville Police Chief Charlie Annis stopped by today to ask that cvilleok.com help raise awareness of the City Commission's ordinance banning turns across the centerline to diagonal park on the opposite side of any Collinsville street. Most of the signs are now in place and the Collinsville Police will begin issuing either verbal or written warnings for about 30 days before actual fines are assessed. -- Ted Wright 6/22/2009
