The Collinsville Chamber of Commerce

What do these three things have in common?

A Mechanical Bull, “Jack Sparrow” from Pirates of the Caribbean, & water balloons?

They will all be at Collinsville Chamber of Commerce’s Family Fun Day on August 22nd!

The purpose of the Family Fun Day is tri-fold:

#1- A marketing opportunity for you, your business, or organization

#2-Offering a fun, family oriented event to our community

#3-Fundraising for the Chamber of Commerce

Several activities have been finalized, and other activities await your sponsorship. The Chamber is encouraging members to open their business to the event attendees by sponsoring an activity, game, craft or contest. I will contact you later this week to determine how you would like to be involved. We still need:

· DONATIONS

o Carnival Prizes (small novelty toys, individually wrapped candy, kid’s meal toys, etc.)

o Bingo Prizes

o Sidewalk Chalk, and lots of it

· VOLUNTEERS

o Bodies (Let’s see your employees, coworkers, and organization members serving the community!)

o Carnival Games (we need loaner games such as a bucket toss, duck pond, bean bag toss, etc.)

o Talent for the Silver Dollar Restaurant stage (know anyone who would like to feature their talent to the community?)

· SPONSORSHIPS – cold, hard cash to pay for advertising expenses & more activities (see attachment)

Call me or Wanda with any questions. I look forward to visiting with you later this week!

CITIZENS OF COLLINSVILLE

The City Commissioners and staff of the City of Collinsville would like to thank all citizens for the patience and understanding during the recent computer crash. This was a very difficult time for all of us, and we truly appreciate the kindness shown by many.

We are still working through a few bugs, however all accounts are back online. The crash was a wake-up call, and actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise. As a result of the crash, we discovered that our back-up system had not been properly set up by the company we had contracted. Had this procedure continued, the problems would have been much worse and the recovery catastrophic. So, there is a silver lining to every cloud.

Once again, we thank you for your patience and appreciate the opportunity to serve your utility needs. If you have any questions or concerns, please give us a call at 371-1010.

Respectfully,
Collinsville City Commissioners
And City Staff

Morgan Roberts Update From
National High School Rodeo Competition
Miss Oklahoma HS Rodeo Queen (Collinsville's Morgan Roberts) in the Grand Entry for the National High School Finals in Farmington, NM July 17-July 26.
Ashley Draper Report (7/23/2009):
Morgan Roberts competed in speech and modeling Saturday night and did fabulous. Her speech was on Annie Oakley and she modeled in a white leather dress with hot pink and turquoise accents, white boots and white hat. She did a great job. One of the pics (in white dress) she is pictured with Miss Utah and Miss Nebraska. She seems to be making lots of friends and represents the State and City of Collinsville well!

Sunday, Morgan competed in one of the horsemanship events with her horse "Chick". She did a great job and performed an outstanding sliding stop (I think that's what it's called!)...

She also rode in the grand entry at the first rodeo event sunday night where she wore her sky blue leather shirt with the word "Oklahoma" down the sleeve in white and the sky blue chaps that were made especially for her with her title in leather on them (pictured). she was led on by one of her Oklahoma teammates who graciously carried the Oklahoma State Flag for her.

In addition, at Monday morning's events she mingled with the crowd signing autographs for hundreds of her admiring fans and selling raffle tickets...again representing Oklahoma beautifully!! One of her best friends at the competition has been Miss Utah.
Mr. Wright,
Marilyn Hardacre asked that I email you a couple pictures of Morgan and a little information.....
