13) Assistant Superintendent’s Report. -- Terry Due reported on the following topics:
* One of the driver's education cars was totaled Dec. 19th (with Mike Henry and his son Jake escaping serious injury). Coach Henry had driven over to Claremore early for wrestling tournament seeding so the rest of the team could arrive later on the bus. After leaving the tournament a flat bed truck that was parked in the roadway was struck. A used replacement vehicle has now been purchased and is in use for driver's ed. Insurance provided ~$7K and an additional ~$3K allowed upgrading from a 2004 vehicle to a 2008 Impala from Collinsville Auto Sales. Temporary problems with the other driver's ed car during the same period cost some of the 7 students in driver's ed this tri-mester to miss some driving time but that time will be made up (to meet state requirements).
* On schedule for all construction projects (including new classrooms at Herald and CHS). 40 geothermal wells were drilled at Herald.
* The stands/pressbox for the track will soon go out for bids and should be completed in time for a small home track meet this April. A 4-school (quad) event is being planned.

* Several rows of blocks fell from the old bell tower at CHS (Dec. 18th). The tower has already been repaired by the crew already on-site building the new CHS classrooms.

14) Superintendent’s Report. -- Pat Herald reported on the following topics:
* ~40 teachers will start additional "Smart Board" training next Tuesday. There are more than 32 smart boards now installed in classrooms and a few more are portable. More fundraisers may have Wilson close to one in each classroom soon. Recently retired Dover Corp CEO (Ron Hoffman) made a donation which allowed the purchase of 4 additional smart boards at the middle school.
* ~$587K increased state school funding was recently announced (corresponding to enrollment growth this year)
* Chamber of Commerce Installation Banquet is Saturday Jan 17th. CHS Principal Cory Slagle will be 2009 chamber president. The banquet speaker (Dr. Kara Gae Neal, Tulsa Tech) is Terry Due's former english teacher.

15) Announcements.
* Dalton Rasmussen and Kyle Rush were honored as all-stars for class 4A football, Rasmussen was also named All-State.
* School Board Member Steve Stout was unopposed for re-election in the December 2008 filing period and will be sworn in for a 5-year term in March.
