Collinsville Main Street Program Hosts
Chili Cook-Off & Antique Appraisal Event

An exciting line up of events await you when you visit the Historic Collinsville downtown district on Saturday March 14th.

A Chili Cook off will begin at 10 a.m. and awaken your taste buds with a variety of chili made by favorite cooks in the area. The cost of a “sample kit” is $5.00.
Event sponsor All Weathers Electric will award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place cash prizes at 1:00 p.m. Persons interested in entering this local gourmet contest should contact the Main Street office at 371- 5530.

Ever wondered what that family heirloom could be worth? Well, starting at 9:00a.m. on Saturday, community members are welcome to meet with Mr. Trent Rogers, owner of Rogers & Sons Antiques, to learn more about your special antique or collectible.

Pets are welcome too! Home Town Real Estate will be sponsoring a Pet Contest! Register your pet in the categories “Cutest”, “Smartest”, “Best Dressed” and “Most Unusual”. Prizes will be awarded for 1st place winners.

All activities for this March 14th event will be held at the Collinsville City Plaza (next to City Hall). In case of inclement weather, the Chili Cook off and Antique Appraisals will move indoors, just east of the City Plaza.

Proceeds of this event will benefit The Collinsville’s Main Street Program, a not for profit organizations, serving the historic Downtown business district and the community.

Collinsville 8th Grade Girls Were
Basketball Conference Champs
Belated congratulations to the Collinsville 8th Grade Basketball Girls ... I've had a note (buried on my desk for over a week) to note their winning of the conference championship back on Feb. 14th. I was not able to attend the games but got the word from Bill Rule who also said the Collinsville 7th Grade boys made their conference finals. I'd be happy to add additional info or photos if supplied. -- Ted
