This was the view (from 12th & Broadway) just a few minutes after the crash at 12th & Maple just after 5pm Thursday.
Collinsville Police Officer J. Ray (center) said he was on his way home after his shift when he saw this pickup run a stop sign. The driver attempted to elude the officer and an attempt to turn at 12th & Maple resulted in a near miss of the utility pole and the truck stuck on the guard rail which stopped it from landing in the culvert.
Collinsville Fire Rescue & EMS personnel had to secure the vehicle and lift it slightly to get the door open far enough to remove the injured driver who was later transported to an Owasso Hospital. A small amount of what appeared to be marijuana was found on the driver after he was removed from the vehicle.
