Old Friends -- Emily Wright was outside the tank (above) taking a photo of the same puffer fish she was feeding (below) while diving as an intern inside the tank almost four years ago in August 2004.

This beaver is one of the newer residents at the Oklahoma Aquarium (in Jenks).
Former Collinsville City Manager Mike Tinker, gave a tour of the isolation building at the aquarium to Emily Wright (a former aquarium intern), Tyler Spencer (Emily's friend from Australia), and Ted Wright (Emily's Dad). Two large sea turtles were in the isolation tank above and several sharks in the tank below.
Paddle Fish
These star fish were digesting their meals.
Emily & Tyler also visited the Riverwalk near the aquarium with many shops and restraunts added in the past few years.
I had not seen the Arkansas River so full in several years. I was also not aware what this new building on the east side of the river was until driving back along Riverside Drive and discovering it was a new casino. -- Ted
The new otter display can put you eye to eye with the entertaining critters..

You may have noticed I didn't attempt to ID all of the exhibits as Emily (my Marine Bioligist expert) is visiting friends and family in Texas for a few more days. She had been in Australia for the past year and will return in a few weeks for another year where she is working on a specific fish bacteria as part of a masters program at James Cook University in Townsville. -- Ted Wright -- July 9, 2008

I also wanted to thank Mike Tinker for the behind-the-scenes tour for Emily and letting me tag along. Mike was one of the key people helping Jenks land the aquarium before a brief stint in Collinsville. Mike has been back in Jenks since late 2004. Mike sounds like a proud papa when describing the accomplishments of the aquarium and staff so far as well as plans for on-going improvements.
