5. Discussion and possible action on FEMA Public Assistance Pilot Program for debris removal. -- approved -- Commissioners Rogers and Porter voted to accept the FEMA estimate of $581,255 total cost to complete the Dec. 2007 ice storm brush removal. That will result in $435,941 soon (perhaps a month?) from FEMA's 75% and $72,656 later (after legislative action) from the state's 12-1/2% reimbursement. The alternative to the pilot program would likely have meant a much longer wait for FEMA funds. The estimate was based on the following FEMA assessment:
Corresponding cost estimates:
The city can chose to spend the money how they wish to accomplish the job, including equipment purchase, contracting out, work by city employees or some combination.
The city's electrical restoration costs are separate from this brush removal decision and are not eligible for the pilot program.
6. Consideration of any new business, which can be considered an emergency, to come before the Collinsville City Commission not known about or which could not have been reasonably anticipated at the time of posting this agenda. -- none
7. Adjournment.
