Collinsville was up 8-0 when I arrived with just 15 seconds remaining before halftime. Glenpool's 7th graders ran one play but were stopped short by the Cardinal defense. Unfortunately, the clock didn't start untill well after the play was over and Glenpool got a second chance and scored (above) with no time remaining. Their extra point attempt failed and the halftime score was 8-6. I missed most of the 7th grade 1st half while driving back from the softball regional. I skipped the 8th and 9th grade games as my camera battery was discharged. My backup battery has now been replaced and I should be better able to cover multi-events again. -- Ted
The Collinsville 7th grade offense early in the 2nd half against Glenpool with Derek Iannapollo (#30) taking the snap from center.
Darin Turner (#25) got this 3rd quarter punt off despite the Glenpool rush.
Hunter West (#28) was defending on this long incomplete Glenpool pass.
Newt Salisbury (#22)
QB Cody Shults (#14) was preparing to pitch to the trailing back on this 4th quarter play.
Darin Turner (#25) with help from his lineman made a good gain on this 4th quarter carry.
Darin Turner (#25) scored the only 2nd half touchdown on this 39 yard run in the 4th quarter (including some fancy sideline footwork that impressed Coach Bob Craig!)
Carter Rasmussen (#85) caught this 2-point conversion pass to set the final score at 16-6 in favor of the Collinsville 7th grade Cardinals 9-27-2007.

Freshman Lose 28-26 In Double Overtime Thriller With Glenpool.
The Cardinal Freshman footbal team lost a hard fought battle against Glenpool 28-26 in Dbl overtime. After going down 20-6 early in the second half the 9th graders fought back to 20-20 tie and send the contest into overtime. After both teams failed to score in the first overtime Glenpool scored first in the 2nd overtime and scored on the 2 point conversion. The Cardinals responded by score on their possesion. The stage was set for a fantastic finish. Collinsville had to go for 2. After a few stratigic timeouts by both teams the Cardinals came to the line. The ball was snapped. It was option right. Quaterback Shane Douglas presented the ball to fullback Tanner Robb over right tackle. That play was covered, so he pulled and kept. The hole opened and Shane cut up for what looked like the game tying run. The hole closed just as fast as it opened and Shane was met by Glenpool's best player. After the collision and a lunge from Shane at the goal line everyone looked for the touchdown signal from the referee. It never came. Douglas had been stopped just short of the goaline. 28-26 Glenpool Double Ovetime. -- (Coach Jim Riley 9-28-2007)
