CHS "Parade of Homes"
CHS Students Built Model Homes
"Collinsville's new Family and Consumer Science Program (formerly known as Home-Ec), taught by Ms. Kim Fahrion and Mrs. Gaile Cole, contains classes such as : Family and Consumer Science I and II, Adult and Family Living, Consumer Education, Career Orientation, Food and Nutrition, Clothing and Fashion Construction, and Housing and Homes. In all of our classes we try to do lots of hands-on, real life projects. We teach the kids practical skills they need to have in order to experience a full and successful life.

In our Housing and Home classes, we just finished a three week unit on historical home styles. After spending a week studying many different historical homes, we had our students build a scale model of their favorite type of historical home. Overall there were 70 kids involved in this project, and they did an excellent job. We are extremely proud of their effort!!!"

Sincerely,
Mrs. Gaile Cole and Ms. Kim Fahrion
