The new Main Street bridge (over Blackjack Creek) has begun with rebar being formed apparently for columns. The new bridge is scheduled to be completed before May 2008.
The old Main Street bridge (over Blackjack Creek) is practically gone now.
Some of the steel beams from the old Main Street bridge showed signs of rust. I don't know the age of that 2-lane bridge which will be replaced with a 4-lane bridge. -- Ted
I haven't received any official information lately from the city or M.E.T. but it appears the new recycling center (adjacent to the new Broadway Bridge) is at least partially operational. Some folks have already left their plastic containers for recycling (above). There are also bins for glass (sorted by color) and newspapers (shown below).
