Wave of Aging
"Baby Boomers" Coming
Lara Hufford of Tulsa's Visiting Nurse Association
Next Chamber meeting is June 7th at Library

Lara Hoffman provided the Collinsville Chamber of Commerce with stats on hours lost by businesses due to employees faced with conflicts as they provide care for their aging parents. These impacts to business (& personals lives) will only increase as "Baby Boomers" need for medical care and assistance increases with age. She presented options available to families needing various levels of care. She discussed the limitations of Medicare, then options for in-home care by LPNs or non-medical assistants.

In response to a question, there are options for long term care insurance but those familiar recommeded planning ahead for that coverage as it would be difficult to obtain after the care was already needed.
