Kevin Phillips (#4) pitched the first 5 innings against Jay Thursday afternoon. Kevin and the Cards had built up a 5-1 lead in the 5th before Jay closed to 5-4 aided by two Cardinal errors.
Riley Murr (#19) put down a bunt in the 4th inning advancing 2 runners while the Cards were down 0-1.
Kevin Phillips (#4) advanced to 3rd (on the Murr bunt above) then scored the first Collinsville run on a Bobby Shoate (#8) sacrafice RBI in the 4th inning.
David Chester (#15) was following Phillips around the bases in the previous 2 photos. Chester scored the second Cardinal run on a Garrett Thurman (#7) RBI single for a 2-1 score.
Cardinal catcher Bobby Shoate (#8) makes the throw to 2nd base in plenty of time for a strikeout / throwout end to Jay's half of the 4th inning.
Jonathan Woods (#9) came on to pitch the final inning with Collinsville up by a single run.
Shortstop Kevin Phillips (#4) heads out for a cutoff throw from left fielder Shawn Curtis (#1) tracking down a Jay double in the 6th inning. A homerun followed giving Jay a 5-6 lead.
This Jay bloop hit landed between right fielder Garrett Thurman (#7), 2nd baseman Brad George (#2) and 1st baseman Dave Chester (#15) but Thurman's throw forced the runner at 2nd base in the 6th inning.
Collinsville scored 3 runs in their (visitor's) half of the 5th inning on a Shawn Curtis walk, Tyler Nair single, Brad George single, Kevin Phillips fielder's choice, Riley Murr single, Bobby Shoate walk and Garrett Thurman reached on a error with the bases loaded.
