NOTICE: CITY OF COLLINSVILLE
NEW TRASH SERVICE

To: All Collinsville Residents

From: Mayor Sallee and City Commission

Date: July 11, 2007

In an effort to better serve you, our citizens, the Collinsville City Commission has unanimously approved the City of Collinsville taking over the city's trash service beginning July 15, 2007. The service the past three years from the last contractor was far less than satisfactory. We believe that city personnel know our city better than any other providers, and will provide much better service.

The City has purchased a new trash truck, with a second one coming in a few months. Poly carts have been purchased from Waste Connections at a reduced cost, and new commercial dumpsters have been set.

The process of taking over and running our sanitation system is an undertaking to say the least, so please bear with us during the transition period. City staff is working hard to make the transition as smooth as possible. There may be additional changes that need to be made, such as bagging all trash. Staff is working on these changes now. Staff wants to get a couple months service under their belts, review any problems, and then decide what can be done to make the entire process run smoother.

We appreciate your patience. We truly believe that the people who live and work in Collinsville know our town the best and can and will provide the best service possible to all our residents.

For questions or comments, please call City Hall at 371-1010.
