| The
tragic death of the Tulsa Drillers 1st base coach (Mike Coolbaugh who
was struck by a foul ball Sunday
July 22, 2007) reminded me of these two past local deaths. -- Ted Wright -- My grandfather C.H. Wright was playing in the 1910 game here with his Dad (W.L. Wright) writing the story including the "bonehead" mistakes by the left fielder (C.H.). The 1933 story would have been written by C.H. Wright. I assume both of these deaths pre-dated the hard batting helmets now required. |
