Carl Albert College
Ted, This is part of an article from the Ft. Smith newspaper on Carl Albert State College softball. -- Norma Holly (4/3/2007)

Carl Albert’s softball team swept a doubleheader against Rose State on Thursday, improving its Bi-State Conference record to 4-6.

The Lady Vikings took the opener 4-0 and then hung on for a 4-3 win in the night cap as they tallied their 13th win of the season.

The Lady Vikings have been known to send balls out of the ballpark with regularity, and now CASC is on the verge of running out of softballs.

The team has hit 29 home runs in the 36 games as Drea Venegas leads the team with seven big flies. Erica Holly has six for the Lady Vikings while Kelly Littleton is third with five round-trippers.

Littleton leads the team in RBI with 31, while Venegas has 29, Holly has 28 and Jackie Kopacek has driven in 21. Holly also leads the team in hits with 48 while Littleton has 41 base hits.
