Collinsville was nursing a 7-0 lead into the 4th quarter when a failed punt attempt let Pryor back into a 7-7 tie a few plays into the 4th. Kevin Phillips shifted the momentum back to the Cards as he ran that kickoff back to Pryor's 30 setting up the Card's go-ahead score. Brandon McCoy killed any Pryor hope of another come back after he scooped up a Pryor fumble and returned it for a 75 yard TD with 2:41 remaining.
Kevin Phillips (#11) scored the only touchdown in the first three quarters on this 2 yard run at 9:01 in the 2nd quarter. Stephen Gerber's kick was good for a 7-0 Cardinal lead.
Stephen Gerber (#81) was scrambling to avoid three Pryor potential punt blockers when the ball was knocked loose and run in about 2 yards for a Pryor touchdown on the second play of the 4th quarter to even the score at 7-7.
The initial game story line became apparent when senior QB Tyler Chronister came out for the coin flip out of uniform and with a cast on his right hand. Sophomore QB Lane Coulter stepped up and did a fine job in the Card's first win in the last 4 attempts.
Kevin Phillips (#11) returned Pryor's kickoff all the way to their 30 yard line early in the 4th quarter with the score 7-7.
David Chester caught this 5 yard TD pass from Lane Coulter at 6:59 in the 4th quarter capping the drive started by Phillips' long kick off return. Gerber's PAT kick was tipped but good to put the Cards up 14-7.
After Pryor had moved from their own 20 to Collinsville's 20 (then back to the 25 on a penalty) their chances of tying the score again were dashed when Brandon McCoy (#20) scooped up a fumble and returned it 75 yard for a 20-7 lead with just 2:41 left in the game. Brandon had plenty of fellow Cardinals escorting him to the endzone.
The Cardinal defense gave up yards but no points against Pryor.
