These seniors received thanks and a plaque from Coach Bob Craig for the legacy they leave the underclassman. L-R: Coach Craig, Jonathan Woods, Josh Borthick, Nick Green, Tyler Chronister, Kyle Lee Smith, David Chester, Tyler Nair and Chance Riley. Not in photo: Justin Hedlund and trainer Addie Upky.
At the conclusion of his 3rd season with the Collinsville Football Cardinals Coach Bob Craig gave a candid and personal assessment of each player's contribution this season and expectations for next season for the underclassman.
Just a few of Coach Craig's Comments:
"Football brings the community together" ... Thank You to so many folks: parents, QB Club, Rasmussen's for painted field, Steve Stout for keeping stats, cheerleaders for healthy snacks, Churches for weekly breakfasts, great quality film to review, 8th graders who charted plays, great crowds here and on the road, and many many more ... Administration's support for the unique coaching to the junior high kids unavailable at most 4A schools ... won 6 games with 4 quarterbacks ... there are 32 4A football teams and the Cardinals had a better record than 19 of them this year ... only 266 days til practice starts for next season.

Improvement continues as the CHS Cardinals got closer to the playoffs this season. The last playoff season was in 2001. Note: these are unofficial records I've tried to gather and win-loss record is not the only measure of success or effort. -- Ted
