Previous Coverage
Tyler Nair (#11) scored from first on this Jonathan Beweley (#16 on the new scoreboard) hit in the 7th inning to give Collinsville a 2-1 win over Holland Hall.
Josh Walker (#10) pitched the first 6 innings for the Cardinals giving up just a single run in the fifth inning.
A portion of the crowd at the baseball game were members of the Lady Cardinal girls basketball team just back from their double overtime win to remain alive in Area Tournament play at Sapulpa. They defeated Miami 66-62 for the right to play again Friday at 1:30 (in Sapulpa again). I just watched the Channel 8 TV 10pm Thursday news coverage of the win over Miami and a short feature on Kaycee Donelson. -- Ted
Kevin Phillips (#4) hit a double in this early at-bats with Ryan Coe warming up behind him.
Jonathan Beweley (#16) at the plate and Tyler Nair on first were the winning combination later, but Tyler distracted the Holland Hall pitcher with several pickoff attempts in this scoreless early inning action.
Kevin Phillips (#4) led off the Card's half of the 4th inning with a single and later scored Collinsville's first run on a Matt Sowards' sacrifice fly.
Kevin Phillips moved from shortstop to the pitcher's mound in the 7th inning and starter Josh Walker moved to third base with the score tied 1-1.
