Prelim. Building Design

If voters approve on Feb. 14th this new Early Childhood Center will be built
just north of the existing Herald Elementary buildings and
greatly improve facilities for Collinsville's youngest students.

The Regularly Scheduled School Board Meeting for Collinsville Public Schools, Independent District I-6 was held Monday Jan. 9, 2006.
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Place: Education Service Center, 1119 West Broadway, Collinsville OK 74021

1) Call to Order and Roll Call of Members.
2) Record of Members Present and Absent. -- all present
3) Presentation by the Constituency. -- none
4) Reading of Minutes -December 5, 2005 Regular Meeting. -- approved
5) Approval of Purchase Orders and Payment of Purchase Orders - FY2006 General, Building, Child Nutrition Funds and FY2005 General, Building Fund Reserves and All District Funds - Approval of Budgets, Reports, Allocations and Investments. -- approved ($237,429 general fund; $29,347 building fund including the final Crossland Construction payment; and $16,373 child nutrition)
6) Discussion and Vote to Approve Activity Fund Fund-raisers. -- approved
7) Discussion and Review of Property Liability Insurance and Vote to Accept Recommendation of Duncan Duvall, Southwest General, Agency of Record. -- approved renewal with existing carrier at same rate as last year but increased by $12,586 for the new buildings added to bring the total premium to $82,182 on approximately $30 million district building valuation + liability. The only other bid was for ~$101,000.

) Accept the Substantially Completion Document for High Scholl and Middle School Construction. -- Approved final payment as the few open issues are covered by warranty.
9) Discussion and Approval of Preliminary Construction Design for February Bond Election. -- The board approved the preliminary floorplan and drawings for the new ECC/Kindergarten Building (to be built adjacent to Herald Elementary) and the 2nd phase of an 8-lane track at CHS. These and additional improvements will be voted on Feb. 14th. With the election just 5 weeks away, school administrators will start presenting information to the public later this week ... including releases to this web site and other local media. Mike Stacy of the Stacy Group presented the plans and drawings to the board (below).

a) Melissa Tillman, CNP.

11) Hiring of Personnel to Fill Current Vacancies -- Approved
a) Business / Computers High School (Patricia Sullivan)
b) Special Education, High School

12) Assistant Superintendent's Report. -- Terry Due reported on a potential improvement at the Wilson Elementary gym of installing all-weather turf. Terry also reported on new carpet in the visitor's locker rooms at the CHS gym.
13) Superintendent's Report. -- Pat Herald reported a 50+ increase in student population this year resulting in a 5.1% increase in state aid (~$300K increase) which was one of the largest increases statewide. Pat also reported the school bond vote date had been set to Feb. 14th. Donna Sears has no opposition for her board post for another 5 year term and no vote will be required.
