| It will be a few weeks before 2006 school enrollment figures are available. I'm sure they will exceed the 1916 total of 1224 students which occured while the 2 zinc smelters were active and Collinsville's population was expanded. At one point during the smelter years (1911-1920) Collinsville's population was reported as high as 6000 (larger than today). -- Ted |
