OKC
Temperatures Were In The 40s with A Stiff Wind
Cards
Play Again Friday at 4pm
(-vs- Poteau? or Tuttle?)
Rebyl
Richardson had another single with 1 out in the 4th (after Jordan Perkins had
reached first safely). A Katie Pelletier walk loaded the bases but 2 strikeouts
ended the inning with no runs scored.
Katie
Pelletier prepares to take off from second base as Hillary Brown hits an infield
grounder. Hillary but was thrown out to end the Lady Card's 2nd inning.
Rebyl
Richardson led off the 2nd inning with a single to right field. Katie Pelletier
reached on a fielder's choice and moved to 2nd on Kayti Bryant's bunt.
Collinsville
defensively in the 4th inning: Kelli Dunagan pitching, Amanda Bolien catching,
Rebyl Richardson first, Hillary Brown second, Taylor Whisenhunt short, Danielle
Kern third, Jordan Perkins left, Lindsay Dawson center and Kayti Bryant right
field (just out of view in this shot). My notes aren't complete but Kelli had
at least 8 strikeouts and I don't recall an Oologah runner beyond 2nd base.
Katie Pelletier was the designated hitter.
Collinsville
missed another potential scoring opportunity in the 6th when Jessica Carney
was tagged near third after a swing and a miss on an apparent hit and run play.
The base runners were a result of a Kelli Dunagan single and Rebyl Richardson's
3rd single (which bounced off the Oologah pitcher).
Collinsville
pitcher Kelli Dunagan picked up another shutout win but the game was in doubt
into the extra inning as Collinsville was unable to capitalize on their earlier
scoring opportunities.
Amanda
Bolien caught this pop up for an 7th inning out.
This
was the game's only score with 1 out in the top half of the 8th inning as Taylor
Whisenhunt steps on the plate with an inside the park home run (see photos on
previous page). Coach Irvine is following her down the 3rd base line while Coach
Davis approaches from first.

Collinsville was
close to scoring an insurance run in the 8th with this 2-out Kelli Dunagan
double landing just inside the yellow-topped fence. When the ball was
hit, it looked like a sure homer but the wind held it in. Rebyl Richardson
followed with her 4th single of the game to advance the runner to third
but an infield grounder ended the threat. Collinsville held Oologah
in their half of the 8th for the 1-0 win and a chance to return to OKC
for a Friday game.

This
was action from the 2nd inning when Oologah advanced to second with a walk and
a bunt sacrafice but did not score.
With
the 4pm softball game time Friday, I plan to stay in town to not be late for
the home football game with Oologah. I'd be happy to have info/photos from anyone
attending Friday in OKC and hope to have a chance to attend the finals there
Saturday. -- Ted 2:55am Friday 10/7
Deer
Creek will be playing either Newcastle or Grove Friday in the other half of
the 4A bracket.
