City Comprehensive Planning Meet
Dr. Bradley Cobb from Bartlesville was the guest speaker at the Victory Cherokee Organization monthly meeting Tuesday. Dr. Cobb lost a leg 7 years ago in an auto accident before becoming a bronze medalist in cycling at the 2000 Paralympics Section of the Olympics. He will be running for the Cherokee Tribal Council position in District 8 as Bill Johnson has decided not run again.
Tharyn Nachtigall (with an assist from Brad Francis) continues the restoration of the 1916 Marmont Building in Historic Downtown Collinsville. The "modern" windows were removed and a frame matching the original windows was installed Monday.
Hitting The Road -- This house near 13th and Center was moved off it's long time lot Tuesday. I'm not sure when it was headed or the new use planned for the lot near the Baptist Church.
The new doors for the City Hall Restoration arrived this week and I assume the windows will be here soon as the building is due to be near completion within a month.
About 45 people met Tuesday evening at CHS to share information and opinions on the future of Collinsville. The ideas from this meeting, a citizens committee and citizen surveys will help in the process of developing a long term comprehensive plan for Collinsville's future development..
