Art students from Collinsville middle and high schools have been decorating downtown business windows for Christmas shoppers. Contact the Chamber of Commerce for more information.
First graders from Wilson Elementary learned some Cherokee heritage from Danny Stanley (including a few Cherokee words) Tuesday morning. They then walked to the Victory Cemetery Tuesday afternoon and learned more about this early day Collinsville burial place. (Previous Coverage)
The Cherokee Nation, Collinsville Downtown Inc., the Collinsville Schools and other community organizations have teamed to restore and maintain the cemetery.
Collinsville 4-H Club members toured the Newspaper Museum In Collinsville Tuesday afternoon. They learned a bit about how Collinsville newspapers were printed in the past century. Those signing the guest book were: Tyler Lutz, Kayce Thetford, Kristina Young, Brent Williams, Shannon Driggers, Stephanie Harrold, Skyler Driggers, Micah Cooper, Rhiannan Quinn, Jessie Sylvester, Karen Klein, Samantha Harrold, Matthew Wouford, Rachel Harrold, Kayla Bethel and Jenifer Lutz.
