School Board Meeting for Collinsville Public Schools, Independent District
I-6, met
Date: July 11, 2005 Monday
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Place: Education Service Center, 1119 West Broadway Collinsville, OK 74021
The following items will
appear on the agenda at the above scheduled meeting to wit:
NOTE: The Board of Education may discuss, vote to approve, vote to disapprove,
vote to table or decide not to vote on any item on this agenda.
1) Call to Order and Roll Call of Members.
2) Record of Members: -- All present except Joe Hampton.
3) Presentation by the Constituency. -- None
4) Reading of Minutes - June 6, 2005 Regular Meeting and June 27, 2005 Special
Meting. -- Approved
5) Approval of Purchase Orders and Payment of Purchase Orders - FY2006 General,
Building, Child Nutrition, Building Bond Funds and FY2005 General, Building
Fund Reserves and All District Funds - Approval of Budgets, Reports, Allocations
and Investments. -- Approved
6) Presentation by City of Collinsville Mayor Stan Sallee.
Mayor Sallee explained the City's planned gas system
purchase before Collinsville voters on August 9th. He discussed the City's
willingness to work with the school system to try to lessen the impact of
approximately $10,900 loss of ad valorum taxes to the school from ONG each
year. Sallee indicated the City is better able to control the fees charged
to customers for gas services (noting that neither ONG nor the CIty could
control the market price of gas). Mayor Sallee also cited several past and
planned city-school cooperative efforts. The school board voted unamiously
to support the City's purchase of gas lines and meters from ONG.
7) Discussion and Vote to Approve Activity Fund Fund-raisers. --

a) Mike Sowards, HS Math.
b) Linda Kelley, Wilson Counselor.
9) Proposed Executive Session to Discuss Negotiations for Certified and Support
Personnel, Pursuant to Section 307 (B)(2) and Hiring of Personnel, Pursuant
to Section 307 (B)(1) of the Open Meeting Law, O§, so that the Board
May Return to Open Session and Vote to Approve or Not Approve Working Agreements
for Certified and Support Personnel for FY2006 and Hiring of Personnel.
10) Vote to Convene in Executive Session.
11) Vote to Acknowledge Return of Board to Open Session.
12) Executive Session Minutes Compliance Announcement. --
no action taken in executive session.
13) Discussion and Vote to Approve Working Agreement for FY2006 for Certified
Personnel. -- Administrators were approved for a 4%
raise.
14) Discussion and Vote to Approve Working Agreement for FY2006 Support Personnel.
-- A 4% raise was approved.
15) Discussion and Vote to Hire Personnel:
a) Head Band Director. -- Ron Lewis (from 6A
Bartlesville Band) --approved
Ron is the current president of the Oklahoma
Bandmasters' Association (OBA).
b) Wilson K-2 Teacher. -- Stephanie Clark (from Sterling,
KS) --Approved
16) Assistant Superintendent's Report.
Terry Due reported on modifcations to the Crossroard
Commercial Cleaning (after hours) contract which increased due to the new
middle school buildings. Cafeteria staff will clean the new cafeteria to better
support use of the new commons area for early evening events. The board approved
the new contract. Moved in is set for July 17th at the new high school classrooms.
Some furniture will be stored at middle school starting July 18th but the
main move in will likely occur August 1st.
17) Superintendent's Report.
Pat Herald reported that an outstanding lawsuit the
school is involved in will likely go to court in October or later.
18) Announcements. -- none
