Additional flooring material was heading inside City Hall yesterday as progress continues toward a November planned completion of that building.
The large "MUSEUM" letters are gone along with the "modern" front glass at the former east half of the Newspaper Museum In Collinsville. The new building owner (Tharyn Nachtigal) is attempting to restore the building to it's original historic look (or better). The building was built in 1916 and was originally known as the Marmont Building. The lathes and plaster have been removed and a new vintage looking metal ceiling will be installed. Tharyn also plans to restore the building front facade to match an early photograph. If you still have 1108 W. Main in your address list for the Newspaper Museum please update that to 1110 W. Main. --Ted
