Lady Cards Beat Mannford 1-0 Twice on No-Hitters By Kelli Dunagan

The Mannford games were rained out Tuesday and re-scheduled for Wednesday August 24th at 2:00. Kelli Dunagan pitched two no-hitters. Jordan Kinard was pitching for Mannford. The first game was a pitching dual with both teams having no hits until finally in the bottom of the seventh the Lady Cardinals made the first threat. Taylor Whisenhunt got the first hit of the day with a lead off single. She ended up advancing to third base when Kelli Dunagan drew a walk and then an illegal pitch was thrown by the Mannford pitcher advancing the runners but we couldn't bring her home sending the game into extra innings. In the bottom of eight Amanda Bolien got on base with a shallow hit to right field. She then stole over to second base. Danielle Kern then got a double to left/center scoring Bolien for the first win 1-0. In the second game against Mannford the Collinsville offense seemed to have loosened up a bit. The Lady Cardinals had seven total hits this game but the only score occured in the bottom of the third inning. With two out Taylor Whisenhunt got a double with a hard hit between third base and shortstop. Then Hillary Brown got a double to the center/ right field gap scoring Whisenhunt. Kelli Dunagan had no hits and seven strike-outs both games. Kinard pitched both games for Mannford.
