Collinsville Mayor Stan Sallee addresses the dignitaries, press and Fire/EMS staff eager to see their new quarters finally start construction after the Dec. 2001 fire displaced the fire department from City Hall.
City Manager Mike Tinker (above) made the introductions and was key to helping Collinsville remain on the Vision 2025 funding list, as was Tulsa County Commissioner Wilbert Collins (below).
The Collinsville City Commissioners "break ground" to mark the start of construction of the new Fire/EMS building west of the historic City Hall building. The restoration of that building should follow a few months behind it's new neighbor on the west.

In the afternoon, following the 10am ground breaking, the old 3 bay fire building was moved from the lot west of City Hall out to Ridgelawn Cemetery. This will make room for the new Fire/EMS building in town and create storage for backhoes and offices at Ridgelawn. (Related Story).
