Collinsville
Mayor Stan Sallee addresses the dignitaries, press and Fire/EMS staff eager
to see their new quarters finally start construction after the Dec. 2001 fire
displaced the fire department from City Hall.
City
Manager Mike Tinker (above) made the introductions and was key to helping Collinsville
remain on the Vision 2025 funding list, as was Tulsa County Commissioner Wilbert
Collins (below).
The
Collinsville City Commissioners "break ground" to mark the start of
construction of the new Fire/EMS building west of the historic City Hall building.
The restoration of that building should follow a few months behind it's new
neighbor on the west.

In the afternoon,
following the 10am ground breaking, the old 3 bay fire building was moved
from the lot west of City Hall out to Ridgelawn Cemetery. This will make
room for the new Fire/EMS building in town and create storage for backhoes
and offices at Ridgelawn. (Related Story).
