School Board Vacancy 6-24-2004 -- Collinsville, OK -- From The Newspaper Museum Site

Due to a vacancy in Post #5, the Collinsville Public Schools, Board of Education will accept applications to fill the unexpired term. As announced at the June 7th School Board Meet, Jon Werthen has resigned that position. The remaining School Board members (the last 4 on the right in the May 18th photo above) are Joe Hampton, Donna Sears, Wendell Johnson, and Ted Clark. Werthen's resignation will be acted on at a special session of the school board at noon Monday June 28th.

An application for vacancy #5 may be picked up July 12 through July 22, 2004 between the hours of 8 to 4 at the Education Service Center, 1119 West Broadway, Collinsville, OK 74021.

The applications must be returned no later than Wednesday, August 4th for consideration. The school board will make a decision as early as the August 9th board meet or no later than the Sept. 7th meeting.

The candidate must have resided in district 5 for at least six months preceding the first day of the filing period and have been a registered voter (with the county election board) at an address within district 5. The individual cannot have been convicted of, or pled guilty or no contest to, a felony (or a misdemeanor involving embezzlement) unless 15 years has expired following completion of sentence.

The individual must have a high school diploma or a certificate of high school equivalancy. The individual must not be related (within the second degree) to a current school district employee or school board member.

Proceed east on East 156th Street North 2 miles to North 113th East Ave. (or North Garnett Road). Proceed south on North 113th East Ave. to West Walnut Street (Collinsville City). East on West Walnut Street to North 13th Street (Collinsville City). South on North 13th Street to East 141st Street North (Prairie Street - Collinsville City). East on Pairie Street to 12th Street (Collinsville City). Southwesterly on 12th Street along the SK & O Railroad to East 136st Street North. West on East 136th Street North to North 113th East Ave. North on North 113th East Ave to East 146th Street North.
