On Tuesday, workers were still getting electrical conduit and other tasks completed prior to walling off the stage at the high school gym. The stage is being converted into the chorus room. By Friday, the wall was up and the gym returned closer to it's original configuration when built in 1968 (with no stage). The need for a chorus room coupled with low stage usage (mostly due to poor visibility from the bleachers) led to this change.

The old wooden bleacher on the north side of the high school gym will be upgraded to plastic seating similar to those on the south side. As with the stage wall above, things changed drastically between Tuesday and Friday as the old wooden bleacher were removed this week.

The old retractable bleachers at the middle school gym were also removed in preparation for upgrading to new bleachers. The middle school fans might have no place to sit for awhile until the new bleachers are installed and ready.

Way Before -- This was the seating arrangement in the old Central High School gym into the 1960s with balcony and lower seating on both sides. This gym was in the same location that the new middle school building will be build in starting soon.

7/28 Update from Cory Slagle (CHS Principal): We are in the process of moving the library to the old chorus room and dividing the old library with a new wall to make two new classrooms. We really needed the rooms since the six new classrooms from the bond will not be ready until next fall.
