While most people in Collinsville
realize that Trinity Faith Church ministers to local families and youth, few
may be aware the Church's work extends into Mexico. Pastor Danny Stanley described
a home for the elderly in Tijuana that has grown from 6 old folks to 71 with
no medical staff other than a nurse in training. That lady (Aurora Flores)
has voluntered at that home for 10 years with no pay. With financial help
from Collinsville, Oklahoma, she has now completed 2 of her 8 years in medical
school while continuing to treat the elderly in that home. The Trinity Faith
Church also sends medical supplies to the home in Mexico once a month to help
her treat the elderly residents.
Pastor Stanley travels
to Mexico once or twice a year to work on this mission activity as well as
others his church is involved with. In April of 2004 he traveled for 9 days
helping to tear down a poorly constructed church and build a new sturdy one
in it's place. He also helped with additions to 2 other churches. He also
helped deliver food to the Paipai Indians in the middle of a Mexican desert.
Commenting on supporting
Aurora Flores in her quest to become a doctor, Pastor Stanley has said: "I
know that we can't help everyone that has a need, but I pray that you can
be of some help for this one of many people in Mexico that needs our help?
The need of her help in this nursing home is so great that I can't put into
words." If you feel you would like to help in some way please contact
Pastor Danny Stanley at Trinity Faith Church, 1107 West Main St., Collinsville,
