Collinsville fire fighters were routinely working the flames of a burning travel home when one was momentarily engulfed in flames and smoke (top right photo) as flames flared out the back window. He quickly dropped off the ladder and was not injured. The travel home was apparently unoccupied and no one else injured either. The fire was reported about 5pm Friday on the last day of 2004. The home appeared to be a total loss. The home was parked in the front yard of an occupied mobile home in the 14200 block of 113th E. Ave. just south of the City Park (19th Street). The photo below was first in the sequence and the fire appears to have started at the front end of the vehicle.
